The Chinese Trademark Office asserted that the CEDAR trademark would likely confuse a registered trademark in China, which if translated into English, would be CEDAR.

With the assistance of our Chinese agent, we argued the differences of the respective marks and their designated goods. In addition, we argued that the goods covered by the respective marks are distinguishable in terms of use, function, sales channels and target customers, etc. and can co-exist in the market. China's Trademark Review and Adjudication Board agreed with our position and overruled the rejection.
