Lawsuit Filed Against Kennebec County Correctional Facility for the Wrongful Death of Dana Kitchin

Timothy E. Zerillo, of Zerillo Law Firm, LLC and John M. Burke, of Caseiro Burke LLC, both in Portland, Maine, have filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of the Estate of Dana Kitchin.  The lawsuit alleges that Kennebec County, among other named Defendants, let Dana Kitchin die in a prison cell in December 2014 when they refused to provide him medical treatment for a ruptured spleen. The Complaint alleges that the Kennebec County Correctional Facility ignored Dana Kitchin's hours of screams and calls for medical help because of his mental illness.  The Defendants refusal to provide Mr. Kitchin with medical care caused his untimely death. The Press Herald article on the lawsuit can be found by CLICKING HERE.
