On March 31st, the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case Alice Cooperation Pty. Ltd. V. CLS Bank International, No 13-298. As many intellectual property attorneys are aware, this case may impact computer software eligibility for patent protection. Here is an excellent article from Ronald Mann, contributor to the SCOTUSblog.com that previews the case: http://www.scotusblog.com/2014/03/argument-preview-justices-have-chance-to-provide-final-solution-to-quandary-about-patenting-software/.
If you are interested in listening to the oral argument, here is a link to the Supreme Court of the United States' Website: http://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/argument_audio_detail.aspx?argument=13-298&TY=2013.
We will be keeping an eye on the Court's decision as it impact thousands of patents and patent applications.
