Maine Cannabis Infused Gummies No Longer Need to Be Individually Stamped with the Universal Symbol

Posted by John M. Burke, Esq. | Apr 23, 2024

Effective immediately, cannabis infused gummies manufactured and sold under Maine's Adult Use cannabis program will no longer be required to be individually stamped with the approved cannabis universal symbol. The cannabis universal symbol must be affixed to the packaging containing cannabis infused gummies.

LD2147, An Act to Change the Requirement for Edible Cannabis Products to Be Stamped or Embossed on Each Serving with a Universal Symbol, which is the piece of legislation that changed the universal symbol requirement for gummies, also allows the universal symbol to be affixed to individually wrapped or blister packaged edible cannabis products as an alternative way to affix the universal symbol to a single serving.
